I have a Kubota B2910 with a 72" mid mount mowing deck. I also have a Tach-All loader attachment so that I can drop off my loader bucket without removing the entire loader assembly which I do when mowing. I have industrial tires (R4) on the tractor.I assumed that scrubbing/tearing turf with the front tires when making very sharp turns while mowing is a common occurence. However, after thinking about it a bit, I began to wonder if it was. I also assume that the R4's are partly to blame for this.Is this common, or is something not adjusted properly? Besides not making sharp turns, is there anything else I can do to minimize this? Thanks!

Any tractor will do that to some extent, especially if you turn too sharp and/or too fast. John Deere apparently had a major problem that they are correcting, but there's no way you can get rid of that entirely other than turning wider and slower. ....

Kelly, if you are concerned about the turf getting marked, you should remove the loader completely before mowing. The added weight directly over the much smaller front (than rear) tires will be a huge factor in turf damage. Try slowwing down before making sudden or tight radius turns this will help a lot also. Best of luck. ....

Your idea of turf and mine may be different, but most of my mowing is pasture with Ag R1 tires. I had a 2WD Massey previously, and on a short turn, the tires would slide sideways and really tear things up. This was particularly a problem on slopes The Kubota does very well in 4WD although, in theory, 2WD shoud be a little better. 4WD is wonderful on the slopes. I try not to have to turn too short by mowing about half the width and just keep moving the circle until I get to the other side. My turning radius on an M6800 is larger than yours but is really extremely good compared with similar or smaller tractors. ....

Forgot to say that I am mowing with 8500# counting the mower. Weight is not the problem, it is the size of the tires to spread that weight out. That is why turfs are so clean on really nice turf. My turf wouldn't know the difference whether I had turfs or Ag's. ....
